KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Union Station has been filled with fans celebrating a Super Bowl win, clamoring to take photos with its light-up signs. And with that celebration comes Wednesday's parade for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Crews have wasted no time setting up the stage outside Union Station.

"Man, it is going to be super exciting now," said Geri Higgins, Owner of Portfolio Kitchen and Home.

The business sits right by Union Station and experienced the 2015 Royals parade. They closed that day and will close again on Wednesday.

"We will be rescheduling appointments for Tuesday and Wednesday,” Higgins said, “and obviously the showroom will be closed.”

One issue the business ran into last time was that people waiting for the parade to start wanted to use their bathroom.

"We were good community partners and a little bit of that happened,” Higgins said, “And then, it became so overwhelming that we had to shut the door.”

While some businesses will close, many people will call off work. Cheryl Dalton, who works near Union Station, said she switched her schedule so that she can be off work the day of the parade.

Dalton and her friend, Levetta Locke, were working during the 2015 parade and said it was a nightmare to get home.

"Just to get from the highway to Broadway to 12th street or whatever street that is I get on the highway, it took about two and a half hours to three," Dalton said.

Dalton and Locke did promise to watch it, but this time in the comfort of their own home.
