Busy night for KC police, two homicides, multiple others shot

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police were called to Linwood Blvd. and Olive St. around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday for the sound of shots.

Upon arrival, witnesses told police several victims left by private vehicle and three people arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds a short time later.

One victim was pronounced dead, while the other two suffered non-life threatening injuries.

There is no suspect description at this time.

And about 10 minutes later, officers were called to another reported shooting at 10th & Broadway.

One person suffered non-life threatening injuries.

As officers began processing that scene, several vehicles leaving the area were involved in crashes, the first at 8th & Broadway, the second crash at 14th & Broadway.

Police are talking to a person of interest, and the investigation is underway.

The shootings follow the homicide at 22nd & Van Brunt shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
