UPDATE, 9:10 a.m. | The Kansas City Police Department told 41 Action News a Ford pick up ran a stop sign near 38th and Terrace and crashed into a woman driving an SUV going Northbound on East 38th Street Pittman Road.
The impact of the crash caused the woman to hit a light pole splitting it in half and also caused the woman to hit part of a house.
She was transported a nearby hospital with critical life-threatening injuries.
KCPD says the truck was reported stolen in Liberty and caught on fire destroying any evidence.
The man driving the truck fled the scene with a bloody head and was wearing a red t-shirt.

ORIGINAL STORY, Aug. 25 | A car went into a house near East 38th Street Pittman Road in Kansas City, Missouri, Monday morning.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m.
KCPD told 41 Action News there were serious injuries in the crash, but there were no further details.
Police on the scene said power lines in the area were down because of the incident. Evergy's website reported 412 customers without power due to the crash, but service was expected to be restored by 8:45 a.m.
