KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The AFC Championship game is once again at Arrowhead Stadium, for the third time in a row.
Before the big game, fans of both the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills tailgated, although capacity was limited due to COVID-19 protocols.
Only fans who have tickets are allowed, and capacity is set at 22%, meaning about 17,000 fans.
41 Action News caught up with several fans before the game to get their thoughts on the atmosphere.
"It’s still Arrowhead," Chiefs fan Mark Butler said. "Not quite as loud, but the folks that are showing up are really exited and enthused about the team."
Chiefs fan Brecca Castle agreed.
"It's a party, everyday," Castle said. "You just have fun, look at it, where else would you want to be?"
Along with Chiefs fans were hundreds of Bills fans making the trip to Arrowhead, like Gonzalo Chairez, who traveled from California for the game.
"I’m a lifelong Bills fan," Chairez said. "My kids are life-long Bills fans, so we’ve been to a lot of games, but we’ve never been to an AFC Championship game so here we are."
Fans told 41 Action News they were looking forward to this matchup since the two teams haven't met up in the AFC Championship game since 1993.
