KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As Chiefs fans pour into Kansas City from all over the country, local hotels are packing them in.

Many hotels are fully booked and have been since several days before the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

Hotel Indigo Downtown Sales Manager Eilleen Lang said the phone has been ringing off the hook. She said many fans booked rooms even before the AFC Championship Game.

One of the fans who scored a room at Hotel Indigo Downtown is San Francisco resident and Kansas City native Cheron Mize.

"I said, 'If we win, we're flying out,'" Mize said.

Mize flew in Tuesday from San Francisco. She said she may live in 49ers territory, the team the Chiefs beat Sunday in Super Bowl LIV, but she was born in Kansas City and it will always be her home.

Mize said she got some stares traveling through the San Francisco International Airport.

"I would say the best part of the experience was being the only Chiefs fan walking through the SFO terminals and on the ramp with my Chiefs gear on," Mize said. "I have love for the Niners, but we're all about Chiefs Kingdom baby."

A few blocks away and right along the parade route, fans are flocking to the Ambassador Hotel.

Director of Food and Beverage Operations Eric Willey said rooms have been in high demand because of their prime view of the parade.

"You can sit here in your hotel room and watch the entire parade," he said.

Willey said the hotel has a wait list of about 50 people right now. Workers are getting ready for a long day, but they say it's going to be a blast.

"This is an epic day tomorrow and an epic experience, and it's fun to be right in the heart of it," Willey said.
