KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Excited Kansas City Chiefs fans gathered at Union Station to watch as the new Super Bowl champion banner was erected on the building.

Fans started to arrive to the Kansas City landmark after the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 31 to 20.

Some fans traveled great distances to celebrate the victory.

“I flew all the way across the world to be here with my kingdom right now. It’s the best feeling I ever felt in my life," said Jack Everchal, who traveled from Thailand.

Kansas City native Kate Bendfeldt traveled from San Diego.

“I always hang up all my Chiefs stuff and everyone says, 'Oh my gosh, this is a load of bull.' And, 'The 49rs are going to win.' And it feels amazing," she said.

Other fans, like Greg Carr, didn't have to travel far, but fondly remember the last Chiefs Super Bowl, 50 years ago.

“Feels good to get it after 50 years. I was wondering if I get another ring with the Chiefs to be able to celebrate with them, and it’s happened," he said.

A victory parade is scheduled for Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. City officials have not released details yet about the parade route because of security reasons.

A rally will follow the parade at Union Station at 1:30 p.m.
