A friendly competition between an Overland Park couple has come to an end with the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LIV win.

Gus Rodriguez grew up in the Bay Area and said the 49ers are his team. His wife Shelia, however, is from Kansas City and is a die-hard Chiefs fan.

The two had a competition to see who could add more of their team's decoration to the house. Their house in Overland Park was a sea of red and gold with 49ers and Chiefs gear.

The morning after the Chiefs win, Gus had to take down his team's decorations, while Shelia got to keep hers up.

"My team. I just grin very large," Shelia Rodriguez said.

"You know, it's our team," Gus Rodriguez said. "If they weren't playing the 49ers, I would have been rooting for the Chiefs."

Shelia echoed her husband's thoughts, saying, "That's true. He's all about the Chiefs until they play the 49ers."
