KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Children's Mercy Park will host a doubleheader for soccer teams from across the globe, including the U.S. Men's Soccer team.

These games are a part of the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Trinidad and Tabago will take on Guyana in the first game at 5:30 p.m.

The U.S. Men's team will play Panama after that game at 8 p.m.

If U.S. wins tonight's game, they'll take first place in group play in the cup.

Kansas City, Kansas Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Bridgette Jobe said this is an exciting time for the metro.

"A game like this brings people literally from all over the world and it brings the interest into Kansas City, from people all over the world. Soccer has that worldwide interest and so people from everywhere are going to be watching this game," Jobe said.

Jobe said over the last ten years, she's seen the sport spike among young children.

"With Sporting Kansas City being here, kids as young as 2 and 3 years old are learning to play soccer and they love the sport and bringing the men's national team here is such an opportunity for our youth to learn more about soccer and these amazing athletes," she said.

Jobe said this also puts Kansas City on the map to host games for the 2026 World Cup.

Tickets are still available for tonight's games. Click here for the information.
