KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Northland fire station that was closed due to sewage issues and other safety concerns could soon receive improvements.

A city committee moved forward a plan on Wednesday to update Fire Station No. 40, which is near North Oak Trafficway and Vivion Road.

Improvements are expected to cost roughly $800,000.

The committee and city manager hope to make a plan for improvements and complete them by December.
