KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Clay County firefighters helped a driver to safety Sunday after he drove onto a flooded road.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office tweeted about the incident, writing that they were called to Old 210 Highway and Bluff Road just before 4 p.m.

The driver went around warning signs into high water over the road.

They were cited for “failure to obey a traffic control device.”

The sheriff’s office reminded people to “turn around, don’t drown.”
