KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Nordstrom announced Thursday that its fans will have to wait a little while longer for its new store to open on the County Club Plaza.
Citing delays caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the retailer said it would not open its new location on Jefferson Street at Nichols Road.
"Due to the impact of COVID-19, construction on our new store at Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri, has been delayed," A Nordstorm spokesperson said.
"Our opening is now scheduled for the Fall 2022. We’re looking forward to serving customers in this location in the future," the spokesperson said.
In February 2018, the company announced plans to close its store at the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park and open up a new location one the County Club Plaza.
Later that year, designers released an initial set of renderings for the location.
Site work on the new location has been ongoing since 2019.
