KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Power & Light District and Two Light Luxury Apartments announced Tuesday a new collaborative workspace for downtown Kansas City called Spark KC.

The two-level coworking space will occupy 15,000 square feet in Two Light, and it’s set to open in late 2018.

"Our vision for Spark is to provide local entrepreneurs an affordable, appealing, flexible way to locate and grow their businesses," said Shervonne Cherry, Director of Community & Partnerships for Spark, in a news release from the Power & Light District.

Spark KC will also offer co-living. Members will be able to live and collaborate within the same building and can buy live/work packages that include technologically advanced Spark-branded apartments, the news release said.

Spark launched its initial venue in Baltimore in 2016, welcoming 110 companies in its first two years of operations, according to the news release.

The news release said construction on Two Light will be completed a month earlier than planned, allowing residents to move into their apartment homes as early as May 4, 2018.
