KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A portion of eastbound U.S. 40 Highway in Independence was closed Sunday due to a crash.
Independence police said were on the scene of a crash in the 10700 block of East 40 Highway around 6:20 p.m. Both eastbound lanes between East 39th Street and Hardy Avenue were closed. One lane of westbound 40 Highway also closed.
All lanes were re-opened by 7:50 p.m.
Independence police said "some individuals" were taken to area hospitals, but no injuries sustained were serious.
