KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The eastbound lanes of Missouri Highway 152 at Shoal Creek Parkway in the Northland are back open after they were closed for a crash involving a Brinks armored car.

Crews were called to the stretch of highway just after 11:30 a.m.

A second vehicle, a work truck, suffered significant front-end damage.

An initial investigation shows the Brinks truck was stopped in traffic in the eastbound lanes of the roadway when it was rear-ended by the work truck.

Police initially said one person died in the crash. However, as of 1 p.m., police sent an update that the person was critically hurt at a local hospital.

SKYTRACKER video from the scene shows a Brinks truck that spilled coins across the roadway. The truck was able to drive from the scene.
