2 arrested after police chase ends in crash on southbound I-29 at US 169 Highway in Northland

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two suspects were taken into custody after a police chase ended in a crash on southbound Interstate 29 at U.S. 169 Highway, police said.

The crash began near U.S. 40 Highway and Blue Ridge Cutoff just after 5 p.m.

Kansas City, Missouri, police began chasing a black Volkswagen Jetta in connection to a robbery and kidnapping.

The chase continued for several minutes onto southbound I-29.

The suspects came upon stopped traffic and the Jetta hit a black Dodge Journey and a blue Hyundai Sante Fe.

Police said the impact of the crash caused the Hyundai to flip onto its side.

Two suspects were taken into custody and transported to an area hospital.

The drivers of the Dodge Journey and Hyundai were also transported to an area hospital.

Police said all four people were not seriously injured in the incident.
