KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Portions of the Buck O’Neil Bridge will close this weekend for the Missouri Department of Transportation to conduct bridge deck work, MoDOT said Tuesday.
All southbound lanes will be closed between the Richards Road exit and 5th Street from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14.
Crews will also close one northbound lane between 5th Street and the south end of the bridge from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, until 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
MoDOT said southbound traffic would be diverted to Route 9 across the Heart of America Bridge, and then back to Broadway Boulevard.
All traffic will still be able to access the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, MoDOT said.
More than 40,000 vehicles travel across the 60-year-old bridge daily, according to MoDOT.
