KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The robots are coming! The robots are coming!
And, they’re part of celebrating Catholic Schools Week at Cristo Rey High School on Linwood in KCMO.
We’ll get back to the robot in a second, but first, what is this week all about?
According to President of Cristo Rey John O’Connor it is about the students, all 380-plus at the school.
This year's theme is Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.
The Robotics team at Cristo Rey is a great example of all of those pillars.
Team captain Jordan tells us that the plan for this year’s robot involves some amazing wheels that go any direction on any surface.
Eventually, the prototype will be able to lift things as well as scoot along the floor.
The team started building and programming the robot earlier this month, after being given the proper parameters for the March competition.
It is the dedication of the faculty, parents and, especially, the students of Cristo Rey that keeps the robotics program fully-charged.
