KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Crown Center Ice Terrace opened for its 47th season Friday morning.

Skaters, both beginners and seasoned, enjoyed a free skate from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Aaralyn Yarsulik said she enjoyed her first time on an ice skating rink with her dad, Bobby Yarsulik.

"I decided to skate because it's a neat sport and I'd really like to try it," 6-year-old Aaralyn said.

"With experiences, it's just great taking them and showing the city and making sure they experience all the things that the city has to offer," Bobby Yarsulik said.

Other kids, including Dalton Wells and Lillie Burchett, also spent some time in the early morning on the skating rink.

Admission is $7.00, and free for adults 60 and older and children 4 and younger.
