Derailment sends 6 Union Pacific railcars off track in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Six Union Pacific rail cars went off a track today in Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday.

The incident happened at about 5 p.m. in the West Bottom neighborhood, according to a Union Pacific spokesperson.

Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe share a diamond interchange near the area.

No injuries were reported and no hazardous materials were involved according to the spokesperson.

A Union Pacific spokesperson said the accident under investigation.
