KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A large tree branch fell over Shawnee Mission Parkway Friday morning, causing traffic to back-up in both directions.
Fairway Police were called to Shawnee Mission Parkway and Aberdeen on the downed tree around 5:30 a.m.

Initially both directions of the road were blocked. As of 7:30 a.m., crews had been able to clear the tree from the eastbound lanes, though the westbound lanes remained blocked.
By 8 a.m., both directions had been re-opened.
