An SUV crashed into Brush Creek early Tuesday morning in Kansas City, Missouri.
The fire department launched a water rescue just after 3:30 a.m., but there was no driver inside the vehicle.
Police did find out the SUV was leased and was not stolen. Detectives will work to contact the leasing company to find out who was responsible for the SUV.

Officials say a man was driving the SUV eastbound on Ward Parkway, hit an embankment and landed in the water. He then crawled out of the submerged SUV and fled the scene in another vehicle, according to a witness.
The driver could have left the scene to seek medical attention, so officers have sent out an alert to local hospitals to see if they can find him. Police say the man was wearing a tank top.
Parts of Ward Parkway and Roanoke Parkway were shut down while crews worked. They have since reopened.
