Power lines came crashing down on cars on I-470 after one dump truck driver's mistake early Wednesday morning.
Six homes near 103rd and Lane were without power since around 2 a.m. when the accident happened.
A dump truck was laying asphalt when the driver took off with the truck bed still up in the air. It clipped a power line and the truck kept moving, pulling the lines quite a distance.
The power line separated from the poles and several utility poles were snapped.
KCP&L crews said all the poles would have to be replaced before electricity can be restored. That could be until the afternoon.
