KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Obtaining low THC oil is now legal in the state of Kansas.
'Claire and Lola's Law' went into effect July 1.
Under the new law, families are able to bring back low THC oil to Kansas from states where it's legal and administer it.
There are certain requirements patients must meet.
They need to have a doctor's letter 15 months before they purchase the oil, stating the patient has a debilitating medical condition.
A third party lab also has to test the quality of the oil.
The oil comes from the marijuana plant. It contains small amount of THC, which is the psychoactive component that causes a high.
Some Kansas law enforcement fear people will create fake documents to obtain the oil.
