KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A new tenant is helping developers move along the Mission Gateway project, which has been in the works for more than a decade.
The project is located near Shawnee Mission Parkway and Roe Avenue.
The Kansas City Business Journal reports the project is now ramping up, thanks to success in leasing out the space.
A large entertainment complex will replace the Walmart, which was originally planned for the project.
Developers are not naming the tenant, but we do know there will also be 160 apartments, a Marriott hotel and a 40,000-square-foot food hall.
The apartments should be ready for leasing in 2020.
Developers expect the full project to be up and running by 2021.
