KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Evergy customers around the company's service area likely saw a quick blinking of their lights Monday night.
The momentary blink happened just before 8 p.m.
The blink was caused by an equipment failure, according to a company spokesperson.
The backup system took over and prevented a customer outage.
