KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Olathe Fire Department says a family of four safely escaped a house fire overnight.
Firefighters were called to the home near Santa Fe Street and Hedge Lane about 1:15 a.m.
The fire department says damage to the home is significant.

Investigators believe discarded smoking materials caused the fire.
