UPDATE, June 17 | The man killed was identified as 50-year-old Michael D. Armstrong of Kansas City, Missouri.
ORIGINAL STORY, June 16 | One man was killed in a crash early Tuesday morning on U.S. 71, according to Kansas City, Missouri, police.
The crash occurred shortly before 4 a.m. at the Paseo exit. A Cadillac sedan was traveling northbound when the driver apparently lost control. The vehicle went off the roadway and overturned at least once, police said.
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene.

Police said the driver was a 50-year-old Kansas City man. His name has not been released.
All northbound lanes of the highway were closed due to the amount of debris from the crash. The highway reopened just after 6 a.m.
