KANSAS CITY, Mo — An FBI agent shot and killed a person Tuesday afternoon in Belton, Missouri.
The shooting occurred in the 100 block of Wilbur Parish Circle, according to a statement from the Kansas City office of the FBI.
The person died at a hospital.
No other civilians or law officers were injured, according to an FBI statement.
The FBI is not releasing any details on the person killed or on what led to the shooting.
This is the second deadly shooting involving an FBI agent this year.
An agent shot and killed 35-year-old David Irving on Feb. 26 in a Kansas City, Missouri, apartment building.
"The FBI takes any shooting incident involving our agents seriously," the statement read. "In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident will be investigated by the FBI’s Inspection Division. The review process is thorough and objective, and is conducted as expeditiously as possible under the circumstances."
