On the corner of 14th and Walnut Friday morning in the Power and Light District, the topping of the new Two Light tower went up to the top of the 24th story.
The final beam would travel to the top of the new luxury apartment building, accompanied by a long construction tradition.
A tree will travel along with it to the very pinnacle of the structure, marking the completion of the highest point of Kansas City’s latest skyscraper.
According to the Executive Director of the Power and Light District, Nick Benjamin, Two Light is about 75 to 80 percent completed and on track to welcome its first residents in the Spring of 2018.
The downtown population continues to grow from around 5,000 people 15 years ago or so to the nearly 30,000 people who live in the area now.
