Fire crews battle early morning house fire north of the river

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fire crews were called to a house fire in the 4800 block of N.E. 37th street just after 6:00 Sunday morning.

Initial calls to emergency crews reported a possible explosion and fire from a two story home.

The caller also stated that residents and pets were in the home.

Fire crews reported heavy fire and smoke on arrival, and a large crowd gathering at the scene.

A short time later fire crews indicated power lines down in the back of the home.

The fire was reported under control about 30 minutes later.

No injuries were reported.
