One of the people taken to the hospital had jumped from a third-floor balcony. His condition was unknown as of Tuesday morning.
A second person who was helped down a ladder to safety was also transported.
More than three hours after the fire broke out, KCFD crews were still trying to put it out.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and investigators planned to return to the scene Tuesday.
There was a fire at the same complex in October.
The American Red Cross is helping more than 30 families who were displaced by the fire.
Many people who have friends or family who live inside the apartment complex have raced over to see if they are OK.
