KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hungry for Jack Stack Barbecue tonight as a source of comfort before another battle with Snowpocaplyse 2019? You’ll have to go somewhere other than the Country Club Plaza.
A small fire in the kitchen exhaust system during lunchtime Saturday forced the restaurant’s closure for the remainder of the day.
An announcement was posted on social media: “We will not be open for dinner at our Country Club Plaza location due to a small fire. Thankfully (and most importantly), no one was hurt! We are working to determine whether or not we'll be open for lunch tomorrow on the plaza — and will update you as soon as we know more!”

The fire was contained and didn’t do any structural damage, so restaurant employees are in the process of cleaning up.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Health Department will inspect the restaurant Sunday morning, per departmental policy in such situations, and expects to reopen for lunch, a Jack Stack manager told 41 Action News.
