KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Marissa Allen has a special approach to game day food.

"My motto for the tailgating party is always keep it easy, nothing too complicated, so you can actually enjoy the game too," Allen said.

She's seen plenty of kickoffs too. Her husband, Jeff Allen, is a guard for the Kansas City Chiefs. But Marissa is a force in her own right.

Her blog, First and Full, is a gorgeous sampling of what she's serving in her home. Italian beef, chicken alfredo skillet lasagna, tangy tomato dressing, to name a few.

"I still share some Whole30 recipes or how to modify things for Whole30 but there I think they just stayed for my family and for the quick recipes that I have," Allen said. "We kind of found our niche in cooking for busy moms."

In the midst of being a wife and mom of two kids under three, Allen found time to launch The Cookie Society. Not only does she own the online cookie company, but she still makes every single one.

Her approach is relaxed and flavorful, but accessible. She hopes you'll give her recipes a try!
