KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former high school teacher and swim coach has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the sexual assault and exploitation of “numerous” child victims.

James Green, 54, also secretly videotaped his victims.

In addition to the 30 years, Green must also pay $10,000 fine and $10,000 special victim assessment, and will not be eligible for parole.

The court mandated his sentence be served consecutively to the state sentences handed down to him in three Jackson County cases.

Green was a teacher and swim coach at several schools in the Kansas City area, as well as head coach at a swim club in Leawood, Kansas.

He is convicted of producing and possessing child pornography.

Investigators found that Green used a hidden camcorder in a locker room at one of the schools to videotape boys ranging in age from 14 to 17 as they undressed and prepared to shower.

When they searched Green’s home, investigators found these recordings, as well as a longer video that shows Green in a “sexual encounter” with a victim at his house.

In the video, Green allegedly tells the victim to recruit other teenagers for “sexual activity.”

Law enforcement also found child pornography on Green’s electronic devices. Some of the photos appeared to have been sent to Green by boys he knew.
