KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools security guard has pleaded guilty in a child sex crimes case, the district announced Thursday.
Michael Eugene English Sr., 59, entered a guilty plea in Wyandotte County Court to three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
KCKPS hired English in March 2002. He worked at West Middle School when the allegations were made in March 2018 and he was placed on leave.
The district acknowledged English's guilty plea in a statement:
KCKPS is an important part of our community. We have high expectations for all employees and understand our responsibility to protect the health, safety and welfare of our students and staff within the district. The district makes every effort to ensure that we maintain the highest standard of professional conduct throughout our school campuses. Our student’s well-being and safety is a top priority.
Any egregious or inappropriate conduct of an employee will not be tolerated in this school district. KCKPS has adopted policies to provide guidance and direction within the district’s educational environment.
