KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A house undergoing renovations was damaged during an early morning fire Sunday in Gardner.
When a police officer with the Gardner Police Department noticed a fire at a home in the 400 block of East Washington Street around 3:30 a.m., he called the fire department.
By the time fire crews arrived, flames were visible from the front of the home. It took about 15 minutes to extinguish the flames, which did heavy damage to the front of the home.
Fire officials said the home is under renovation and was unoccupied at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
