General Motors announced Friday changes to production plans at the Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
Beginning in late September, the Fairfax Assembly will reduce production shifts from three to two.
A representative for GM said they believe “the steps we are taking will provide the smallest impact on employment at the plant going forward.”
GM said lower demand for passenger cars across the industry has caused it to adjust production of some models.
According to GM, they are not providing more detail about the plans for competitive reasons.
