KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Another pickleball-focused entertainment venue will be coming to Overland Park next year.
Pickle Bar + Kitchen plans to open late next year at 135th Street and Switzer Road.
The venue will be designed as an entertainment complex with indoor and outdoor pickle ball courts, an outdoor space for yard games and a stage for concerts. It will also have a large rooftop deck overlooking the yard area.
"We are very excited to bring a top-notch pickleball experience to Overland Park," said Jeremy Alpert, principal of The Alpert Companies, in an email.
On Wednesday, Chicken N Pickle also announced plans to open its second metro location in Overland Park. The new location is expected to open next fall in the final phase of the Prairiefire development.
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. It can be played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court with a modified tennis net, according to the USA Pickleball Association.
