KANSAS CITY, Mo. — People in Kansas City, Missouri, will notice graffiti in areas around the Country Club Plaza Monday morning.

The graffiti is left over from Sunday night’s protest.

The graffiti covers sidewalks, walls and buildings - mostly along Main Street from Cleaver II Boulevard to 42nd Street. There is also graffiti on the public library’s Plaza branch.

Messages in the graffiti ranged from profanity attacks on police to remembering George Floyd.

41 Action News spoke to one protester who did not spray paint anything.

Adam didn’t want to share his last name. He said he understands people want to express themselves. He chose to march as the most effective way to share his feelings.

I just felt like it was my duty as an individual who can identify with injustices going on right now. I felt obligated to participate,” Adam said.

It will be up to property owners to remove the spray paint. Some business owners said they used a power washer Sunday to remove graffiti from Saturday’s protest.
