KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Officials are investigating after multiple firearms were stolen from two sporting goods stores in Kansas this week.
On Friday morning, suspects broke into a Cabela’s store at 10300 Cabela Drive in Kansas City, Kansas, and stole several firearms, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Explosives and Firearms said in a news release.
KCK police believe three suspects were involved in the theft, a spokesman said. It was not immediately clear how many guns were stolen.
Earlier this week, Olathe police investigated a break-in at Bass Pro Shops at 12051 S. Renner Boulevard. Multiple firearms were taken from the store during the incident, which occurred around 11:45 p.m. Monday.
Officials have not said whether they believe the two thefts are connected.
The ATF, which is investigating the two incidents along with police, is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in both cases.
