If you are looking to get more bang for your buck when shopping for everyday household items, Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore locations in Independence and Blue Springs might be the place to shop for you.

On Earth Day, April 22, people shopping at those locations will receive an additional 30 percent off their purchases.

The stores are located at:

505 North Dodgion Avenue

Independence, MO 64050

Open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

1219 NW 7 Highway

Blue Springs, MO 64014

Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Restoring not only helps save the environment by limiting items going into a landfill, but can also help people in need of necessities.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, around 12 percent of households in the Kansas City area have a severe housing cost burden, exceeding 50 percent of their income.
