Handful of residents evacuated in KCK gas leak

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Emergency crews are working to repair a leaking 3-inch gas line in Kansas City, Kansas.

A Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department spokesperson said crews were called to the 2400 block of North 80th Street early Thursday evening after someone smelled gas.

Workers with the Kansas Gas Service were also dispatched to help repair the leak.

Four homes were evacuated during the leak.

The spokesperson expected crews to remain on scene for two hours.
