KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Heart to Heart International is sending help to areas hardest hit by Hurricane Laura.
The organization said they will send a disaster response advance team that will include a mobile medical unit, support vehicles, as well as medical and logistics personnel.
The mobile medical unit is stocked with personal protective equipment, medicines, tetanus vaccines, medical supplies and hygiene kits.
Since there is a pandemic, the organization said coronavirus precautions will be taken - including having each crew member take a COVID-19 test before deploying.
Heart to Heart International said when their crew gets to the affected areas, they’ll work with local agencies to determine which locations need the most help.
