KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the Kansas City area from 1-8 p.m. Thursday.
During this time, heat index values are expected to reach 105 degrees.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
NWS advises drinking plenty of fluids, staying out of the sun, and checking up on relatives and neighbors.
