Around 3:45 p.m., heavy rain flooded parts of Interstate 35 just south of downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
The heavy rain also flooded out a portion of Westport near the intersection of Westport Road and Mill. Some cars suffered flood damage. No injuries were reported.
Further east, the band of rain forced a delay of the Kansas City Royals game at Kauffman Stadium. The game resumed around 4:45 p.m.
41 Action News Meteorologist Jeff Penner says storms have moved out of the area, with skies clearing for the remainder of the evening.
