KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City-based Boulevard Brewing Company will be launching a breakfast-inspired beer next week, the first in a new series to celebrate the company’s history.

Hold the Pancakes will be the first beer in the First Fridays collection, the brewery announced Tuesday. It will be released in limited quantities in the Kansas City area beginning Monday, with other regions to follow.

The new beer “blends multiple vintages of imperial brown ales and imperial stouts aged in bourbon, rye and maple syrup-filled whiskey casks,” the brewery said on social media.

The First Fridays collection pays homage to the company’s past tradition of sharing beer with the local arts community at Friday gallery openings, which later became known throughout the country as First Fridays, the brewery said.

The new beer will not be available in the Boulevard Tours and Rec Center Beer Hall or its gift shop due to the limited release.
