Homee On Demand app, called "Uber of home repair," now available in KC metro

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- Instead of looking up a plumber online, or thumbing through the phone book, Jim Carlson used his thumb to download a new app.

Makers of the Homee On Demand app call it the Uber of home repair.

41 Action News talked with David Collier, who, if the Homee app is like Uber, is the equivalent of an Uber driver, a handyman with nearly 30 years experience.

Homee is a GPS enabled, on-demand, property maintenance app.

You can request plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and handyman services.

“On average a consumer can place a request for any of our services,” Sara McFarlane, spokesperson for Homee On Demand, told 41 Action News. “And it takes about 48 seconds to have a professional accept the response, and another 28 minutes to have them at your door.”

Just like Uber, you see the prices up front.

Carlson said he loves the convenience.

“It’s a lot better than waiting for next Monday at 2 o’clock to see if they’re going to work out or not,” he said.

The service call to Carlson’s house took about 20 minutes. Collier worked on the water supply valves in the house.
