UPDATE, 2/18 | Police have identified the victim as Kansas City, Missouri resident Lakeasha R. Taylor, 22.
EARLIER | Homicide detectives with the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department were called to a shooting in the 6400 block of East 12th St. shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival, officers located a woman who had been fatally shot to death.
Police say they have no suspect description at this time.
The shooting was the city's third homicide in 12 hours and puts KCMO ahead of the deadly pace from the last three years.
Detectives also responded to a fatal shooting in the 5700 block of Manchester Ave. shortly before 9:15 p.m. Saturday and investigated another fatal shooting around 2:15 a.m. Sun in the 8700 block of Troost Ave.
A black male was shot and killed outside a club and a female was wounded by gunfire in the incident on Troost.
The homicide on 12th Terrace is the 19th in Kansas CIty, MIssouri, in 2019.
There were 12 homicides through Feb. 17, 2018, which finished with 136 total homicides.
On this date in 2017 and 2016, there had been 16 homicides.
