KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two metro area Houlihan’s restaurants have closed.

Matt Manning, chief restructuring officer for HRI confirmed the closures of the Fairway and Olathe locations in a statement Sunday, citing bankruptcyas the reason.

“There is never a good time to close a restaurant, but due to the wind down of the bankruptcy estate, the last day of business for both of these locations was Dec. 28,” Manning said. “HRI is doing everything possible to minimize the impact to affected team members by working to place them at different continuing locations and reaching out to local restaurant companies on behalf of the team members.”

The Overland Park and Leawood locations will remain open in Kansas, while the Lee's Summit location will remain open in Missouri.

The following restaurants also will remain open:

  • J. Gilbert’s Wood-fired Steaks & Seafood in Overland Park.
  • Bristol Seafood + Steak + Social in downtown Kansas City.
  • Bristol Seafood Grill in Leawood.

HRI filed for bankruptcy in November. It was the second restaurant group in the Kansas City metro to do so this fall.
