KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Services on the Amtrak River Runner between Kansas City and St. Louis, and a portion of the Southwest Chief from Kansas City to Hutchison, Kansas, have been suspended due to diverted freight traffic.
In their place, Amtrak is using chartered buses to service passengers along both routes, though officials warn that delays are possible.
Amtrak said the temporary suspensions will last through at least Thursday.
Passengers with reservations along the routes can visit Amtrak.com for additional information.
